Comments:Thank you so much for creating this site! My father, Harvey P. Bailey, served on the Natrona, and passed away in the '70's. He often spoke of the ship (proudly displayed his picture) and crew, and all the places/events of the Pacific theater. Whenever I want to connect with him, I visit this site and see his name on the roster ... it makes me feel better. Thank you all for serving our country.

Comments:My dad served with the 3/307th in the 77th Infantry Div. throughout their WWII. I've recently been trying to re-trace his service and activities. You NATRONA site has helped me a great deal in identifying the naval transports involved int he Okinawa campaign that moved the 77th from Leyte. I found your narrative very interesting. Thank you.

Comments:It was a joy to find your site. Have been looking for info on the Natrona for several years since bringing my dad to live with us after the death of my mom. Dad served on the Natrona and is listed on your crew list, Glen Alfred Partridge. He's had a real bout with serious illness this fall (2009) and thought to look again to find something that would be of interest to him. Thank you to all who have contributed and helped to inform me of what life was like for all of you during WWII. And thank you for your service to our country. I would love to bring Dad to the 2010 reunion in New Orleans, but don't know if that will be possible. Ever thought of having a reunion in Chattanooga, TN??? No ocean but a very family friendly town. Proud to be an American daughter of a WWII Veteran. Go NAVY!!!

Comments:My wife found this site today. Wow. Wonderful to read. Her father, Glen Partridge, was a scivy waver on the Natrona. He's 83, lives with us, and is having some health issues. It was a joy to read some of the emails to him today, and exciting to see his name on the crew list. He always insisted he wouldn't be listed because he wouldn't pay the dollar to be put on the list. Thank you for the site. I hope we can still contact some of his shipmates. Looks like many of the posts are a few years old.

Comments:Hi! My name is Dawn Haynes and my father is John D. Lowry, Yc3. He served on the Natrona from start to finish. I would like to add his information to your list, just in case any of the other crew members would like to contact my father. Again, his name is John D (Donald) Lowry, his address is 606 N. Murrays Ave., Braymer, MO 64624. His phone number is 660-645-2118. Dad is extremely hard of hearing, due to the extreme loudness of the guns on the ship. We lost our mother in 2003 on Veteran's Day. It has been hard for dad these last five years, without mom. I would love for dad to be able to attend the reunion in 2009, but I am not sure that is possible. I have tried for a few years to find out about any reunions, but was just lucky enough to find your website tonight. Dad does not have a computer, but I am sure he would love to have contact with any of his fellow crewmembers. I am printing off copies of the website for him to read. Is there any possible way you could c

I have a few of his medals and ribbons. I also have his dog-tags. I was very happy to celebrate memorial day yesterday with my 2 sons and husband. My husband is currently stationed on the USS Sampson DDG-102. Thank you for making this site.

It was always a dream of his to attend one of the reunions although it wasn't possible due to health problems. My Father passed away last year, but was so proud to be a Navy veteran and serve on the USS Natrona. Visiting your website and seeing the reunion photos were very comforting on this special day of rememberance. I can't help but wondering if any of these gentlemen might have served with Dad. Thank you so much for making this website available.

Comments:Bailey _ YOU ARE INCREDIBLE! The USS Natrona webpage is informative, historical and awesome. So much time and effort has been expnded to create a layout of pictures and invaluable information on this wonderful World War II Naval group. We enjoyed reading the history of this remarkable Navy ship and its fantastic crew. How exciting to connect with former shipmates at our annual reunions. Getting together at our earthly gatherings is a foretaste of greater times to come when we come together at our eternal Heavenly reunion. It will be such a joy when we no longer have to depend on walkers, wheel chairs, pills . . . Our feet will be dancing and our spirits will rejoice as at last God's promise of pure happiness and perfect health will be fulfilled.
